As a Venue Manager, you will lead and manage Julio's Operations to ensure quality service and standards while delivering a guest experience that is unique. Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations concerning health, safety, or other requirements.

Located within walking distance to Kings Park, Holiday Inn West Perth is IHG's first Perth property outside of the city centre. Part of the hotel's charm is the former 1902 Walsh Family residence which sits at the front of the property as a destination restaurant, Julio's Italian Restaurant.

Julio's is Perth's favourite award-winning Italian restaurant where you are welcomed by a passionate team, and can enjoy an Italian cicchetti menu, fresh house made pasta, and a spread of hearty mains. We are proud to have be en awarded the prestigious Australian Good Food Guide Reader's Choice Award in 2023 for "Italian Restaurant". We pride ourselves on serving up locally sourced dishes.

Julios offers boutique coffee, a la carte breakfast, private dining/small conference functions, a casual lunch with colleagues during the week, or a relaxed dinner with friends and family. Julio's is seen bustling on Friday evenings with live music and local produce tastings at their "Live @ Julio's" events.

Every day is different, but you'll mostly be:

  • Managing the operations of Julio's restaurant and function rooms including Walsh (30 guests) and Grafton (15 guests)
  • Directing, coaching, and developing a team of approximately 20 team members (made up of Team Leaders, Supervisors and Attendants).
  • Support the team on the floor, leading by example and offering help and assistance where required to get the job done.
  • Delivering exceptional guest and corporate experiences by setting high standards and finding new ways to exceed them.
  • Managing food and beverage standards to deliver against our commitment to responsible business practicesand our owners.
  • Working closely with the sales & marketingteams to drive maximum revenue, by leading the F&B Revenue Generation meetings.
  • Daily monitoring of overall venue revenue and cost budgets with a focus on food, beverage, and labour costs.
  • Recruitment, onboarding and training of all new F&B colleagues.
  • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan, assign and delegate work.
  • Prepare, finalise and publish rosters in accordance with the Hospitality Industry General Award (HIGA) guidelines.
  • Drive a positive culture and engagement withinyour team by creating a positive and productive work environment built on motivating, inspiring and leading an effective team that delivers results.
  • Ensurecompliance with all federal, state and local regulations concerning health, safety, or other requirements.

What we need from you:

  • 2+ years' related experience including a demonstrated ability to successfully lead a small team.
  • Previous hotel experience is highly regarded, but not required.
  • Exceptional customer service skills through utilising your ability to communicate clearly and genuinely when interacting with guests.
  • The ability to time manage competing priorities- you will need to balanceadministrative tasks and operational requirements.
  • You will have an eye for detail, be an enthusiastic and an approachable person who is motivated to take ownership.

  • Obtain certifications or permits as required by local governmental agencies (Approved Manager certification).
  • Be flexible with your availability to be considered for this example working early mornings, evenings/ nights, weekends, and public holiday shifts are all part of the job.
