Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems to ensure efficient and safe operations. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical equipment and systems, including but not limited to conveyors, pumps, motors, valves, and HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with established schedules and procedures to enhance equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams to understand equipment specifications and maintenance requirements.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members, engineers, and production staff to resolve equipment issues and optimize overall plant performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory of spare parts and tools.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
  • Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and systems as needed.
  • Provide technical support and training to junior maintenance staff and other team members.

About You:

  • Minimum certificate IV, Diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in mechanical maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Specialist or in a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Demonstrated experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
