The Opportunity
The Rolling Stock Technical Customer Interface Manager is a newly created position, reporting to the Engineering Director.

This senior position, within our Engineering team, is located in Melbourne and is responsible to act as mediator and make and maintain strength in the bridge between the customer, in front office, and the remote development team.


The main objectives involve ensuring that the product being developed remotely will fulfill customer and regulatory requirements with respects to the contractual scope (based on "as sold") and according to the project QCD commitments and acting as front office with customer, thus, by delegation of Chief of Development, as technical authority and accountable of contractual technical requirements and project QCD deliveries.

Key accountabilities include but not limited to;
Interface with the customer to;

  • Organize technical meetings and reviews and clarify technical requirements in consideration of the project schedule and ensure that engineering solution will satisfy customer / final users
  • Report and advise on key technical and engineering findings and status updates
  • Address anticipated risks and synchronize relevant parties to ensure seamless integration
Interface with the remote project development team to;

  • Ensure appropriate expertise is available and mobilized
  • Coordinate and follow up contractual deliverables and commitments
  • Monitor and advise on operational effectiveness performances
  • Participate as customer voice to technical risks and opportunities management


Additionally, as part of a multinational organization, this role will see you network within Alstom and throughout customer base locally, leverages best practices globally to enhance project outcomes and customer relations.

As a senior member of the team, we are seeking an experienced, confident professional with genuine interest and a proven track record of developing relationships between customers and development team within the Rolling Stock sector.

Key skills include;

  • Operational knowledge of key stakeholders within the local, Victorian industry
  • Extensive experience in a similar position within Rolling Stock
  • Competency in understanding and translating engineering information
  • Demonstrated relationship building and influencing skills that improve connectivity and business outcomes
