About the position

The Springwood Donor Centre is in search of a Registered Nurse with exceptional customer-facing skills and a sincere dedication to delivering top-notch service to our donors. As a Registered Nurse, your role will involve supporting donors throughout their donation process, collaborating effectively to reach collection targets. A typical day at the center may include:

  • Greeting and interviewing potential donors to assess their eligibility
  • Performing routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
  • Setting up equipment, tubing, and collection bags
  • Safely inserting and removing needles for blood collection
  • Offering clinical oversight and guiding team members in the collection process
  • Handling adverse donor reactions and providing necessary assistance
  • Monitoring donors post-donation and assisting with rebooking for future donations

Our comprehensive training program combines on-the-job experience with online classes to ensure proper support. Apart from a passion for delivering excellent donor experiences, candidates should be able to:

  • Occasionally lift weights between 9-22.7kgs
  • Regularly stand, walk, and bend to handle equipment and products
  • Leverage nursing expertise and maintain current AHPRA registration
  • Be flexible to work varying shifts on a rotating roster from Monday to Saturday/Sunday
