About the Role

  • Based at our Perth office, the primary objective of this position is to manage all aspects of the company's Timor-Leste, Western Australia and Northern Australia Upstream project procurement activity in a way which optimises risk and value, contributing to Santos' competitive advantage.
  • This will be delivered in line with company values and in accordance with the Santos Management System.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Lead and manage a high performing team of 8 to 10 procurement professionals responsible for project procurement services in support of Upstream Offshore.
  • Contribute to procurement planning aligning goals to those of the business and procurement function. Effectively communicate goals and role accountabilities to ensure team and individual alignment.
  • Drive team performance and improvement through coaching and individual development. Build strong succession and talent pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relations (internal and external) at all levels. Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders to ensure business needs are understood and alignment of procurement delivery.
  • Ensure development and execution of quality project contracting and sourcing strategies to achieve project requirements and lowest total cost outcomes.
  • Maintain contracts to high standard and ensure adequately administered including authorised value, term, bank guarantees, variations, claims and purchase order accuracy.
  • Drive continuous improvement and growth for Local industry and First Nation participation throughout the portfolio and associated supply chains.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with applicable Joint Venture Agreements and legislative requirements for relevant jurisdictions, including Timor-Leste.
  • Lead and contribute to high level and complex negotiations.
  • Champion the Santos values. Uphold and ensure compliance to the Company standards and procedures as defined in the Santos Management System (SMS) and Delegation of Authority (DOA).

About You

  • Experienced in procurement (preferably project procurement) within the oil and gas or similar industry, you will be an effective leader with strong presence and gravitas to influence at all levels. You will have the ability to build and maintain robust relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. Managing stakeholder expectations, you will be highly organised and proactive to ensure alignment and effective team delivery in accordance with business priorities.
Ideally, you will have 5+ years project procurement experience in senior and/or leadership roles, and be degree qualified or possess the equivalent tertiary/work/industry experience
