Medical Receptionist

We are looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist who is customer centric with empathy to provide the quality care in General Practice.
Answer the telephone in a courteous and professional mannerThe successful applicant must have a can-do attitude and great communication skills and be an excellent team player.
Our practice is fully accredited, with up-to-date premises, friendly family-orientated environment, and supportive practice with friendly staff.
We would love you to have:
- Previous experience in General Practice setting is desirable.
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Highly motivated and flexible
- Experience with best practice program (preferred) but not mandatory.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Greeting patients upon arrival
- Conduct billing using Tyro, Medicare, DVA and private invoicing.
- Accept and arrange telephone appointments.
- Interpret, assess and manage patient enquires to achieve acceptable outcomes.
- Receive electronic and hardcopy medical correspondence and manage to ensure received and forwarded for further management.
- Open and close clinic, ensuring secure integrity of the practice.
- Undertake management of tasks as directed by doctors and other senior practice staff and practice manager.
- Liaise with General practitioners and other health professionals in regards to patient appointments.
- Organizing the consulting suites
- Booking and arranging of appointments
- Scan and fax documents and prepare documents for mail out
- And other tasks as required.
- Ability to multitask effectively and admin work of expanding clinic of 23 practitioners on a given day
- Excellent communication skills including a professional telephone manner.
- Consistent attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Confident with computers and new technology
- Experience in mental health is desirable
- Work cohesively within a team and also able to work autonomously.
Current drivers' license is a must.
We seek a warm and friendly team member who is punctual and reliable for an immediate start.
Remuneration will be dependent upon experience.
