Mental Health Support Workers - Northern Gold Coast and South Brisbane

  • Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with mental illness and intellectual impairments? We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Disability Support Workers to join our team in the Inala area. This position may involve assisting participants with accessing the community and providing support for daily life._

Essential for the role:

  • Valid work rights in Australia
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification
  • Current Blue Card/Yellow Card/ NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Queensland Driver's Licence
  • Minimum of Certificate 3 in Disability / Mental Health/ Individual Support / Aged Care / Nursing / Health Services Assistant Or be a current Nursing student (should have completed Cert III equivalent placements) _
    or willingness to obtain_
  • English as preferred language

Experience working with adults with intellectual impairments is desirable._

About the role...
Within this role you will be expected to perform direct care duties with compassion and professionalism

These duties may include:

  • Assistance with daily hygiene (showering, dressing, toilet)
  • Assistance in meal preparation and shopping
  • Daily activities such as laundry or cleaning
  • Transporting to appointments
  • Facilitating community participation and inclusion
  • Providing companionship and support
  • Providing high intensity support
  • Prompting positive routines and behaviours in a cooperative and respectful manner

Supervision of medication

  • SIL Shifts
  • Following Care Plans and assisting in working towards NDIS goals
