Senior Capital Projects Engineer

Our Brucejack site is currently looking for a Senior Capital Projects Engineer with a competitive base salary range dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications, along with an additional 15% short-term incentive. The base salary offered will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies while considering internal equity.

The role is to support the Mine Operations and Technical Services group with key projects. The focus will be on projects from the approved capital budget list and other projects essential for ongoing mine development. The successful candidate will oversee and assign tasks to intermediate and junior engineers. Responsibilities include creating project timelines, budgets, engineering solutions, and overseeing contractors during project implementation.

Key duties to be performed prioritizing safety:

  • Maintain project continuity within Brucejack mine
  • Initiate, update, and manage capital projects due in the budget year
  • Oversee dewatering projects and evaluate cost trade-offs
  • Establish and update mine infrastructure standards
  • Conduct financial trade-off and KPI benchmark studies
  • Support operation-related projects such as Battery Electric Vehicles, Central dewatering sump, and Ore sorter trial
  • Manage interfaces between multidisciplinary projects within Brucejack mine
  • Oversee projects based on regulatory documentation and code
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives

About You:

Requirements for the position:

  • BSc. Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years experience in a capital projects role within mining or a related industry
  • Experience in underground mines
  • Registration as a P. Eng. or P. Geo with EGBC
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Interpersonal skills and team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to engage with management and tackle complex problems
  • Knowledge of mining & safety legislation and regulations

  • Work on a rotation shift at the remote Brucejack Site
  • Pass a pre-employment medical screening
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs
  • Maintain performance over 12-hour shifts
  • Work in extreme weather conditions
  • Work closely with the team
