About the job


An exciting opportunity exists to become a key member of the Regulatory Approvals team and make an impact to our business by leading the delivery of Part V approvals under the EP Act.


Reporting to the Director - Regulatory Approvals for the Australian Region, you will work closely with our regional locations to develop a consistent and strategic approach to securing these approvals whilst ensuring timely alignments with operational priorities.


In addition, your key contributions will be:

  • Leading Licence amendments and Works Approvals under Part V of the EP Act at Mining and Refining.
  • Supporting Capital Projects with approvals strategy, scoping of environmental studies and reviewing of approval submissions.
  • Leading regulatory engagement with DWER Industry Licensing and all other secondary approvals in consultation with Site Environment Managers and Approvals Manager
  • Part IV/EPBC.
  • Ensuring environmental contractors deliver timely outputs, to assist with meeting permitting and approvals objectives.
  • Working with Site Environmental Managers on maintenance of baseline environmental studies and compliance requirements to support future approval submissions.
About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Substantial experience in the Environmental field with a proven track record of effectively managing Part V approvals processes within the Mining & Resources industry.
  • An ability to develop practical solutions through ambiguity and embracing ideas and input from your team and stakeholders.
  • Highly experienced in environmental impact assessment and management plan development.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse audience.
  • Expertise in in analysing information from a variety of sources to solve complex environmental challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, listening skills and the ability to make sound, practical, logical, and balanced judgements.
