Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the people we support with computer technology and the internet.
- Help update and format clients' CVs.
- Create lesson plans that are appropriate according to age and abilities.
- Provide appropriate resources and learning materials for clients.
- Educate on the "Be Connected" program from the
Australian Government:
free online courses on everything from how to access the internet, using their device and keeping in touch with others online.
- Ensure that computer equipment and the internet is functioning properly.
- Work in collaboration with the IT and Centre Support Volunteer teams.
- Stay uptodate on changes and advancements in computer technology.
- Responding to additional computer support requests as they arise.
- Fill in a feedback form once the shift is completed.
Selection Criteria
- Experience in working with people from various backgrounds and cultures
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers
- Flexibility and willingness to take on extra tasks as appropriate
- Ability to adhere to policies in relation to code of conduct, boundaries and confidentiality
- Strong computer skills
- Confident with problemsolving
- Patience and a friendly manner are essential
- Ability to explain things in clear English to a nonEnglish speaker
