Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the people we support with computer technology and the internet.
  • Help update and format clients' CVs.
  • Create lesson plans that are appropriate according to age and abilities.
  • Provide appropriate resources and learning materials for clients.
  • Educate on the "Be Connected" program from the

Australian Government:

free online courses on everything from how to access the internet, using their device and keeping in touch with others online.


  • Ensure that computer equipment and the internet is functioning properly.
  • Work in collaboration with the IT and Centre Support Volunteer teams.
  • Stay uptodate on changes and advancements in computer technology.
  • Responding to additional computer support requests as they arise.
  • Fill in a feedback form once the shift is completed.

Selection Criteria

  • Experience in working with people from various backgrounds and cultures
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on extra tasks as appropriate
  • Ability to adhere to policies in relation to code of conduct, boundaries and confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills
  • Confident with problemsolving
  • Patience and a friendly manner are essential
  • Ability to explain things in clear English to a nonEnglish speaker
