Speaking Schools Australia is on the search for passionate public speakers, debaters, and presenters to teach workshops to students in Kindergarden to Year 9 during our after school term classes and school holiday workshops.

There are lots of opportunities for ongoing work available as well for successful applicants.

We've been established in Sydney for a number of years, with thousands of students coming through our doors. We're excited to be moving into Brisbane and are looking for coaches to join our team


We have online opportunities available, but are specifically looking for in-person coaches to teach public speaking to students in year 3-5.


Class details are:

Location:
St Davids Neighbourhood Centre, Address: 68 Orange Grove Rd, Coopers Plains QLD 4108

Day:
Saturdays from April 29 for 9 weeks

Time:9am - 12:10pm

Once you're a part of our team there will be plenty of opportunities for ongoing work at this centre and elsewhere

A bit about us:

We are focused on empowering students by providing them with the skills to be the great speakers of tomorrow by providing them a safe space to learn.

One key thing is our firm belief in 'learning through doing', so we prefer to teach using activities rather than lecturing.

Additionally, we are a close-knit team comprised of mostly university students, who enjoy what we do and want to make a difference.

  • The ability to create a safe, fun, and supportive learning environment
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and develop new skills for young people: and
  • Some experience in debating and/or public speaking (including high school public speaking or debating competitions)
Even if you don't have those things we would love to hear from you if:

  • Have previous experience working with children;
  • Are available to work at the specified times and locations;
  • Enjoy engaging in a practical skill that will also help you hone your own abilities.
