Job Description

As the direct report to the General Manager, you will oversee the maintenance of the hotel's infrastructure and facilities, ensuring compliance with set standards.

  • Lead a team in managing both proactive and reactive maintenance tasks, as well as contractor relationships.
  • Drive the hotel's environmental and sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop and enforce operational policies, procedures, and controls for property maintenance.
  • Monitor and manage the department's budget effectively.
  • Supervise the Engineering team's recruitment, training, and performance.
  • Ensure proper documentation and upkeep of manuals, diagrams, and inspection checklists.
  • Participate in Health & Safety activities and uphold compliance with regulations.
  • Champion sustainability efforts within the hotel.
  • Implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program annually.
  • Take charge of maintaining the hotel's condition through a planned maintenance strategy.
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and assist in investment planning.
  • Establish maintenance procedures, monitor execution, and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Prioritize repair work and oversee resolutions for breakdowns.
  • Approve invoices for payment post satisfactory completion of work.
  • Identify and address maintenance needs through regular property inspections.
  • Assess training requirements, develop plans, and conduct engineering training sessions.
  • Collaborate on Fire & Safety training with the Security manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within a 4/5* Hotel.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health, Safety, and Environment standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
