Retail Banking Services Finance acts as a partner to the
Retail Banking Services (RBS) business unit and other business units (our customers) to help them succeed with the Bank's goals and their business unit responsibilities. This is achieved by providing financial information and business advice to support our business units to build sustainable shareholder value.

Retail Banking Services Finance forms part of the
Financial Services business unit whose vision is to make a difference on the things that matter.


The principal responsibility of the role would be to deliver and own finance insights and analysis to facilitate operational and strategic decision making for the Consumer Finance business unit.

Critical to the success of the role is leveraging cross functional relationships to ensure that performance analysis and insights provide lateral perspectives across customer and shareholder perspectives.

This includes working closely with relevant stakeholders across the Retail Product Finance team and Consumer Finance Product teams.

Do work that matters

  • Preparation and delivery of driver based performance analysis and forecasts of the CBA credit card loyalty awards program and the CBA Consumer Finance business;
  • Strong and proactive engagement with a broad range of stakeholders across the Group (for example, Finance and Business stakeholders across business units and divisions)
  • Develop and leverage internal relationships across the Credit Cards business to stay connected to the commercial and strategic priorities and ensure that insights/ deep dives provided are proactive, onpoint and thought provoking
  • Embedded within the role is the provision of some support on Financial Control objectives across the team.
  • Lead business relationships both with internal Credit Card Loyalty stakeholders, as well as external suppliers e.g. Collinson to ensure accurate reporting of Loyalty financial results and customer impacts.
  • Prepare dynamic and insightful ad hoc analysis to key stakeholders (e.g. RBS GE, RBS CFO, GM Finance, EGM product, GM product) including information for quarterly CBA results announcements
  • Assist with regular analysis of the unsecured credit product portfolio, including insights on business drivers, market dynamics, new product innovation, major business decisions and the competitive landscape where relevant, ensuring financial rigour is consistently applied

We're interested in hearing from people who have**- Graduate qualifications in a numerate discipline preferably finance, business or economics.

  • Post graduate qualifications preferred (CA/CPA, MBA, SIA)
  • Experience in financial performance analysis (management reporting/forecasting)
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and trend analysis
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills and critical thinking skills and commercial acumen
  • Strong team mindset
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
