Our Family:

  • We are a busy small family consisting of mum and two girls age 12 and 7. We are fun, laidback and very welcoming. We are seeking an experienced in home educator/nanny for miss 7 (Miss 12 attends Brisbane State High and will mostly be doing her own thing of an afternoon) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and most (but not all) Fridays, from 3pm to 6pm. Start date is flexible for the right educator. Miss 7 requires an educator to care for her basic routine needs while also focusing on developmentally appropriate activities in regard to fostering and expanding upon her developmental milestones. She is interested in Lego, she likes imaginative play and colouring, dogs, cats and gardening. She enjoys being outdoors and going to the park. She requires assistance with her selfhelp skills. She is very social and engages well with others. She has good communication skills, she has a speech delay but can express herself well, and is extremely funny and will almost certainly endear herself to you with her charming and cute remarks. Big personality in a little package. We live in a charming older apartment in Highgate Hill with a big communal backyard and space for miss 7 to ride her bike, potter in the garden, and get stuck into messy play. We have a friendly indoor devon rex cat who will mostly keep out of your way.

Your Duties:

  • After school care will consist of the following:
  • Pick up from Dutton Park State School at 3pm and transport her home engage in play and learning activities provide after school snack and dinner support any inhome therapy e.g. speech therapy, OT on Mondays drive her to swimming lesson at Yeronga Pool for 4:15pm lesson

Our Perfect Caregiver:

  • We would love to have an educator who is positive, fun, kind, flexible and creative, with the energy to keep up with miss 7 and maintain a calm and safe home during sessions of care. Experience/understanding of neurodiversity and traumainformed care would be highly regarded. A good sense of humour is a must Educator would need to have a background/qualifications in early childhood education or teacher aide, due to accessing government in home care scheme. Pay rate on offer is above industry standard due to ACCS eligibility.
You would be employed via an in home care agency and so the following is required:

  • either hold or provide evidence that you are working towards a relevant Child Care qualification: Cert III (ECEC
  • Early Childhood Education & Care) or higher (Diploma, Bachelor of Education)
  • you can be studying
  • First Aid, CPR, asthma, anaphylaxis
  • National criminal history check; Blue Card
  • Driver's licence
  • Australian citizen or Permanent Resident or relevant visa to allow employment on a continuous basis for 12 months or more
  • other requirements will be supported by agency's onboarding process e.g. public liability insurance, ABN, registration etc
