What we're looking for:-

This position is responsible for providing accounting and financial support to the Finance Department in the areas of statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial accounting.

The Role:-

  • Ensure appropriate accounting standards are adhered to and support accurate financial reporting
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close processes including preparation of accruals, preparation and posting of journal entries, monthly schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations of allocated accounts.
  • P&L review, variance analysis and providing visibility to various internal stakeholders, and to support to internal business functions with adhoc reviews.
  • Assist with the accurate and timely preparation of delivery of statutory financial statements and annual reporting requirements to ensure AEG's compliance with financial legislation and preparation for audit.
  • Support actions to ensure compliance to procedures and policies
  • Measure quality and completeness of processes to ensure adherence to internal controls

About you

  • Professional accounting qualification with proven understanding of financial systems
  • CPA/CA accredited, or studying towards
  • 2-3 years' experience in Management Accounting
  • Knowledge of the childcare services industry and relevant legislation (an advantage)
  • Strong knowledge of current Australian Accounting Standards
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Demonstrated accuracy in production of reports
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

Permanent Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week and based in our Centre Support Office in Brisbane (CBD).
