The opportunity
The Environmental Advisor at Perilya Broken Hill will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's mining
operations are conducted in compliance with environmental regulations and best practice. Reporting to the
Environmental Superintendent, the Environmental Advisor will be responsible for supporting the environmental
management activities of the Perilya Broken Hill and Port Pirie operations

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking environmental monitoring and reporting requirements including air quality, noise and vibration,
ground and surface water and weed management.

  • Develop and implement site based environmental awareness strategy, utilising various media, including
presentations and documentation.

  • Liaise with and advise internal stakeholders across the business to ensure environmental compliance at all
times.

  • Support the development and delivery of reporting requirements for environment, rehabilitation, and
sustainability, both internal and external, including the delivery of rehabilitation inventory reports.

  • Compiling and reporting of accurate data for internal and external environmental reporting requirements.
  • Assist operational personnel to fulfil their environmental obligations and functions.
  • Maintaining a close working relationship with all departments within the business.

What will you bring?
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Qualification in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a scientific related field
  • A demonstrated ongoing commitment to safe work practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with high computer literacy skills
  • Current Australian Drivers License.
  • Prior mine site experience preferred
