About The Role

Thiess is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer, based in our newly renovated Brisbane head office, to join our Information, Communication & Technology team.

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play a vital role in determining, documenting, and coordinating the implementation of system policies and standards. Your primary objective will be to provide the business with an exceptional ICT environment and to administer cloud system architecture to ensure maximum efficiency.

The ideal candidate will architect and lead the implementation of ICT solutions, providing technical expertise and support to Thiess ICT. They will determine, document, and coordinate the implementation of system policies and standards to deliver an exceptional ICT environment for the business. Additionally, they will administer cloud system architecture to ensure maximum efficiency.

Additionally, you will:

Provide timely & quality support, investigation, response, feedback, escalation, assistance and resolution to incidents logged by the Thiess Helpdesk to Thiess & Business Unit Employees.

Proactively review the services being provided to ensure they are fit for purpose, cost effective and performing adequately.

Ensure all systems and network services are available when required by the business and are performing as expected.

Report on project activities, support tasks, issues and training requirements.

Drive a culture of continual improvement in the efficiency and level of ICT services through monitoring developments in ICT technology and making recommendations to management.

About You

You maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, interpersonal and communication skills and present a customer focused attitude in daily operations.

Additionally, you have:

Several years demonstrated experience in the operation and design of cloud based infrastructure, cloud applications and infrastructure technologies

Experience with writing design, project documentation and process documentation

Knowledge of Windows Server environments, Linux\Unix Server environments, SQL Server and Oracle databases.

Knowledge of server technologies such as AD, Exchange, Terminal Services and Citrix.

Knowledge of Cloud Storage & On Premise Storage technologies, Anti-Virus/security practices.

Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organisation

Ability to impart industry knowledge to internal staff members

Working knowledge of enterprise ICT environments.
