Manager Risk and Control Enablement – 12 month Max Term Agreement/Secondment Opportunity

About the Job Title and Company:

The Manager of Risk and Control Enablement plays a crucial role within the Business Institutional and Market Operations Chief Controls Office (BIMO CCO). This team is at the forefront of safeguarding the Business & Institutional Market Operations by delivering top-notch risk services. The main goal is to provide expert and efficient risk management support to ensure outstanding business and customer outcomes are achieved.

The BIMO CCO function offers the following risk services to drive effective business operations:

  • Implementation and adherence to the Operational and Compliance Risk Management Frameworks
  • Specialist advice, consultation, and services for identifying, monitoring, and managing risks and controls
  • Building and fostering a strong risk culture across the Chief Operating Office
  • Risk governance and reporting
  • Support for risk assessment and governance related to project and transformation activities

Do work that matters:

The Manager of Risk and Control Enablement will report to the Senior Manager and will contribute to the CommSec Operations business. The role involves establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders such as Business Banking Operations, CommSec, Line 2, Chief Operations Office, and Chief Controls Office Centres of Excellence.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Ensuring compliance with the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) and Compliance Management Framework in the CommSec Operations business
  • Designing and implementing controls to enhance risk and compliance outcomes
  • Conducting Root Cause Analysis and implementing control enhancements
  • Supporting business stakeholders in process improvement and automation
  • Developing operational risk training programmes
  • Reporting on operational risk and control profiles
  • Collaborating with Line 2 and Audit for data integrity issues
  • Engaging with various teams across the CommSec and wider Group

  • CommSec/CommSec Operations experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Operations and/or Technology Controls

  • Relevant academic or professional qualifications
  • Risk Mindset to address current and future risks
