We are recruiting a two full time, permanent Support Worker to work out in our Stronger Ground (Mental Health and Wellness) South team.

Shifts will be Monday to Friday between the times of 8am and 5pm.

The role will be based across the Mandurah and Rockingham area however you may be required to work across the Perth Metropolitan area.

The role requires travelling to meet clients in various locations.

We are seeking an individual with experience providing psychosocial support to people living with mental health challenges.

As a Support Worker you will work in a trauma informed way to liaise with Support Coordinators and provide capacity building support as determined by the client's recovery goals.

The focus of work is to support clients to reconnect with community and improve their mental health and wellbeing and overall quality of life.

The successful applicants will have experience in working with clients in a family inclusive way, working in a team environment, and liaising with mental health professionals, housing providers and other appropriate services to support the client's recovery journey.

As well as the above experience, we will be looking for:

  • Completion of or progress towards a relevant qualification in Mental Health (Certificate II/III), and/or relevant work experience.
  • Ability to engage with individuals within different levels of needs and build and maintain a professional relationship.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the functioning of the team.
  • Ability to model positive behaviours, emotional maturity, coping skills and resilience.
  • Good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Understanding of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and client reporting system.
  • Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the vision, mission, core values and the guiding principles of the organisation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.
