No to Violence is Australia's national peak body for specialist organisations that offer intervention and primary prevention services for men who use violence.

No to Violence provides training, sector development, communities of practice and articulates service standards and advocacy across the sector. We operate the Men's Referral Service, providing counselling services and referral pathways directly to men who use violence.

As a pro-feminist organisation, women and children are at the centre of what we do - by ending men's use of family violence, families, individuals and communities are safer.


Reporting to the General Manager Policy and Advocacy, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a program of work to raise and strengthen the profile of the specialist family violence sector to prevent and respond to family and intimate partner violence.

You will develop communication and media strategies that are focused on creating stronger engagement and influence with federal, state and local government, ensuring NTV can have influence in ending family violence on a national scale.

You will play an important role in supporting the executive leadership team and positioning NTV's strategic engagement with government, to ensure greater influence and ultimately achieving support and ongoing funding.


To be considered for this role, you will be an accomplished strategic communications leader with experience engaging in effective strategic engagement with federal and/or state government ideally within the government/ ministerial, industry or public sector settings.

This will include the development and implementation of strategic communication frameworks and media strategies.

You will have highly developed writing and editing skills and can clearly articulate complex information into clear and engaging strategies.

Furthermore, you will have the ability to interpret data and gain key insights from data and research to develop communication strategies.

You will be considered a motivational and highly engaged leader, with experience driving a positive and engaged culture across the team you lead.

Additionally, you will be known for partnering across the organisation and at the executive level in a collaborative and effective manner.

An understanding of the determinants, dynamics and impacts of family and gender-based violence would be considered desirable.
