Buller Sports is a leading rental and retail operator in the Mt Buller/Mansfield area, with 8 stores and a team dedicated to delivering to our guests the best possible mountain experience, all day, every day.

You will be up for leading an energetic team, going the extra mile for our customers, and facing unique challenges of the alpine environment.


What YOU will be responsible for;


Your work as a Rental & Retail Store Manager will require you to lead the day-to-day operations of your assigned store, whilst coordinating with the Buller Sports Manager.

This will include managing sales and rentals, staff development, and supporting all other operations that assist with the deployment of the long-term vision for the store.


  • Providing a superior customer experience for all Mt Buller guests
  • Contributing your energy and enthusiasm to a positive team environment
  • Assisting guests with the safe, and correct setup of their rental equipment
  • Educating guests on the care and use of their equipment
  • Selling, and promoting a wide range of mountain products
  • Supporting the management team in the implementation of promotions, visuals, store maintenance, and all other sales functions
  • Identifying, and anticipating the needs of guests, whilst resolving any problems efficiently, and tactfully
  • Complying with all company, store and area operational, OHS, environmental policies, and procedures
  • Assisting with maintaining equipment conditions and stock levels, for both rental and retail products
  • Representing Mt Buller, Buller Ski Lifts, and the Buller Way

Management Responsibilities;

  • Direct management of front line staff and store supervisor/s
  • Ensuring all employees complete necessary Resort Training and follow all SOP guidelines
  • Setting, and maintaining a positive attitude for staff to follow
  • Ensuring employees conform to the Altitude Buller Sports Grooming and Appearance Standards
  • Training, and assisting staff members with the safe and correct usage of tools and equipment
  • Continuing the training, and development of staff members throughout the season
  • Provide guidance and coaching to staff members
  • Address staff complaints, resolve problems, and administer disciplinary action when necessary
  • Reviewing staff performance and providing feedback regularly
  • Manage, and review financial store performance with the Rental & Retail Manager

What YOU will bring;
You must have a passion for the snow, with a thirst to expand your understanding of this unique industry. You are self-motivated, cheerful, and keen to experience the mountain life style.

  • The ability to work varying schedules; including day, evening, and weekend shifts

Qualifications & Experience;

  • Minimum 4 years of Rentals or Retail experience
  • Minimum 2 years of general supervisor experience
  • Equipment Certifications annually or as required
