About us
Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas of criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 28 offices.

About the Role


Support the management of Legal Aid NSW security services in a centralised, office based and individual staff member capacity utilising the Integrity interface and external contractor services.

Provide facilities support to Legal Aid NSW sites in order that they can deliver optimal performance.

About you


The Facilities Security Officer is a temporary role which has arisen due to the varying increased demands for security and accommodation duties for the Facilities team and its 28 offices.

The security clerk would assist in managing the increased workload.

This role may require metro and regional travel to LANSW offices.


You will be one of the key supports for onboarding new additional staff, including access cards and managing the increased use of duress alarm systems.


The successful applicant will be committed to the security side of issuing and managing access cards, alarm testing and the on-call response roster, managing duress items such as satellite phones and Falcon Watches and managing additional security issues such as the threats to staff that requires additional measures and ad hoc Facility property tasks.


This role is Temporary Full-Time (35 hours per week) for a period of 2 years.

We may use this recruitment to create a talent pool for similar ongoing or temporary vacancies we have over the next 18 months.

The essential requirements for this role

You must:

  • Demonstrated office knowledge and experience.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID19 prior to commencing in the role
- be willing to do a Criminal Record Check
- hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
