Mechanical Fitter/Assembly

Programmed Skilled Workforce is a top provider of managed workforce and training services. Our client, based in Melbourne South East suburbs, is looking for a Mechanical Fitter/Assembly Leading Hand. This role is hands-on, leading a team of 3 operators on a day shift schedule, Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 2:00pm.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Setting up assembly machines like riveters and press machines
• Assembling a wide range of special chains with precise tolerances
• Supervising a team of 2-3 operators
• Repairing and assembling gearboxes, brakes, and clutches
• Performing general mechanical fitting tasks
• Ensuring tasks meet high-quality standards

Your Qualifications:

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter
• Experience in leading a small team
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality
• Strong English communication skills
• Possession of a valid driver's license
