    About the Role

We are looking for Supervisor - Civil & Drainage to join our team to work on an exciting rail project in the Midland area as part of works delivering and commissioning new facilities and infrastructure for the PTA.

The project includes the construction of earthworks, drainage, electrical, building and rail infrastructure. Working in metropolitan Perth, this is an exciting project for an experienced Supervisor to join our team.

  • This position will play a key role in managing the efficient coordination and supervision of construction activities, as well as ensuring safety, environmental and quality aspects of the project are met

Responsibilities include:

  • Promote total job safety and environmental awareness to employees, subcontractors and all persons engaged directly or indirectly on the project.
  • Emphasises to all employees and subcontractors the key messaging senior management places on embossing a culture of safe work practices and environmental protection.
  • Ensure that hazards are identified, risks assessed, and control measures planned and implemented in consultation with relevant employees.
  • Monitor and review the performance of plant, labour and subcontractors to ensure production targets are met or bettered and take appropriate action as necessary.
  • Promptly advise Senior Supervisors of any issues that could result in variations to the contract and ensure effective record keeping.
  • Organise, coordinate and direct construction activities in accordance with construction schedules so as to complete the works on time and within budget whilst constantly ensuring that planning, safety, environmental and quality requirements are met.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes and standards, which form part of the contract.
  • Ensure that all personnel are inducted and trained in their roles and responsibilities and are competent to perform the duties allocated to them.
  • Escalate where appropriate to a Senior Supervisor on the project on any issues identified on the project which may require more complex resolutions.

About You
To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Trade's qualification relevant to the construction, building or manufacturing industries.
  • Minimum of five years' experience relevant to the designated project and having previously held a position of Foreman.
  • Sound working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementing of same.
  • Strong and proven ability to lead, direct and manage groups of diverse employees.
  • Exceptional vigor and energy accompanied by good oral and written communication skills.
