Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 Manager - Ministerial, Portfolio Advice & Coordination on a contract for 12 months.


Duties:

  • Support your team to coordinate the client's engagement in the parliamentary process, including question time briefs, appearances at senate estimates and committee hearings, parliamentary inquiry submissions and Questions on Notice.
  • Coordinate timely and highquality input from across the agency to develop briefings to support the Minister, and information requests from Commonwealth agencies.
  • Provide drafting advice and coordinate ministerial correspondence and ministerial submissions in accordance with the client and departmental requirements.
  • Scan and monitor Parliament through Hansard and committee pages.
  • Undertake environmental scanning, research or data collection as needed to inform briefs or other processes.
  • Plan, write, edit, and proofread materials and take the lead on planning and implementing strategic projects for the agency.

Essential requirements:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the machinery of government/public sector.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and experience managing strategic processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a range of stakeholders in a consistently high tempo environment.

Desirable qualifications or equivalent experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in public sector administration.
  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in parliamentary, government, project management, or media/issues management.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • An Australian Federal Police check (National Police Check) that is completed and cleared.
