This position is a part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where we concentrate on the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Our range of engines, designed for multiple applications, is propelling the next era of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human space missions. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Creating Component Finite Element Models (FEM) with input from the design and engine system analysis team.
  • Performing hand calculations and FEM Simulations for rocket engine primary and secondary structures.
  • Using structural analysis methods to aid in testing and failure investigations.
  • Improving current analytical capabilities.
  • Providing guidance to design and structural analysis engineers for optimized designs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, mechanical, or aerospace engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in structural analysis using FEM.
  • Strong grasp of structural analysis/mechanics.
  • Ability to work well in teams.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication of analysis results.
  • Building trust, maintaining positive relationships, and supporting an inclusive environment.
  • U.S. citizenship, U.S. permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee/asylum status in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in ANSYS Mechanical.
  • Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB, etc.).
  • Experience in structural modeling of aerospace or high-performance structures.
