About the Role


StarRez is seeking a highly motivated and analyst with experience in data privacy to join our team in Denver, USA or Melbourne, Australia.

The Privacy Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the company is in compliance with all privacy regulations and laws, while also protecting the personal information of our clients and employees.


What you'll be doing
Working as part of the Security team, you will:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive privacy program for the company, including policies, procedures, and guidelines for data collection, storage, and use
  • Maintain a register of where data is kept, what business purposes it is used for, and what the legal basis for its use is
  • Stay uptodate on all relevant privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR and CCPA, and ensure compliance with them
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all privacyrelated inquiries and issues, both internally and externally
  • Conduct data impact privacy assessments (DPIAs) to identify potential privacy breaches and implement measures to prevent them
  • Provide training and education to all employees on privacy best practices and company policies
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that privacy is integrated into all aspects of StarRez's operations

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as law, computer science, or information technology, or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience working in Technology, Higher Education, or Student Housing
  • Strong understanding of privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR and CCPA, or a willingness to learn rapidly and pass appropriate certification (CIPP/E, CIPP/U, etc)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
