A new opportunity exists for an experienced Procurement Lead to join Bechtel's Mining & Metals Project team in Perth, Western Australia.

About the Role:


As the Procurement Lead, you will perform formation and administration of procurement commitments and participate in the development of supply chain documentation, procedures, forms and templates.

You will be required to effectively liaise with internal stakeholders well as maintain relationships with bidders and supplier personnel.

As the project scopes progress, there may be a requirement for this position to attend the project job site, from time to time.


Your duties will include:
- supervise the team through the steps of bidding, evaluation, and award.
- lead in the procurement administration functions of identified project purchases to ensure performance of each order in accordance with the contracted terms and conditions and project requirements.
- supervise preparation and maintenance of project bidder lists, ensuring input is received from all procurement functions and other operational groups.
- reviews bid tabulations and bid selections, and executes commitments within delegated signing authority.
- communicate with Engineering and Construction supervision to assist, guide, and plan the processing of material requisitions for all project purchases.
- other duties as per job requirements.

What You Bring:

- experience, skill, or training in the function of supervising workload distribution and execution of the work, as well as personnel interviewing, selection, salary planning, classification changes, performance evaluation, career counselling when delegated, training, terminations, and transfers.
- skilled in working with and communicating effectively with supervisors of other project functional groups, primarily Engineering, Construction, Project Management, and other services.
- experience in the formation and administration of purchase orders through the several steps of bidder prequalification, compilation of bid requests, receipt of bids, bid evaluation, award, monitoring the performance of suppliers and buyers, backcharge procedures, resolution of claims and disputes, and other such related steps.
- experience in supply chain / procurement automation management tools and databases.
- skilled in conducting research and preparing reports relating to purchasing of equipment and materials on global projects.
- experience in making technical presentations to senior client and internal management.
