The Role:

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the delivery, including managing schedules and budgets, and ensuring that contracted panel suppliers are delivering on time and to a high quality standard.

The Senior Project Manager will also work closely with key stakeholders including Department Agencies to ensure that works are scheduled in line with Agency constraints to minimise disruption.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated 5 years' plus experience working on a complex project and demonstrated high-level understanding of project management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience of managing outsourced contractors to successfully deliver planned project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-level liaison, including the capacity to independently represent the Department and build productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to draft a range of documentation and provide concise, well developed advice.
  • Demonstrated ability to display initiative, meet tight timeframes and deliver work priorities to a high quality standard.
  • Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMBOK and/or Agile are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with government procurement and contract management processes, including the whole-of-government coordinated ICT procurement arrangements and MoU's is desirable.
  • Have or the ability to obtain tickets for white card, asbestos awareness, working from heights and working in confined spaces.

Location and Contract Term: This role is based in the ACT. Initial contract is for 12 months with a start date of 1 July x 12 month extension options pending budget and delegate approval..

Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A NV1 security clearance is required.
