Applications Engineer – Power Distribution

We are seeking a talented Applications Engineer to provide pre-sales and post-sales support on Power Solutions to customers and the IPD sales team. The role focuses on Power Distribution, particularly Electric Vehicle Charging and Load Management systems, and includes conducting technical presentations and customer training, visiting customer sites, and supporting strategic projects by developing solution architectures and Bills of Materials, and maintaining strong technical knowledge of EV chargers and Load Management systems.

This role will report directly to the Customer Service and Technical Manager and will be based at our office in Wetherill Park.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and application support for intelligent power distribution products, EV chargers, and Load Management Systems via phone, email, remote connections, and on-site visits.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues to ensure client satisfaction throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborate with the sales team on electrical drawing take-offs, product selection, and quotations.
  • Work with internal teams to address and resolve client queries and challenges promptly.
  • Offer project engineering and management support during installation and commissioning stages.
  • Conduct customer and staff training courses, deliver technical presentations, and assist in developing targeted marketing materials.

Experience & attributes:

  • High levels of verbal and written communication skills (including creating technical proposals) and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people.
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or Trade Qualified Electrician.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a desire to know how things work.
  • A self-starter who enjoys working in a dynamic team environment and is comfortable talking with clients and peers.
  • Five or more years' experience in Power Distribution applications, including Electric Vehicle Charging (EVC) and Load Management Systems (LMS).
  • Project Engineering experience.
