The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Risk Management (ARM) team is seeking an experienced and self-motivated risk professional to drive robust regulatory and compliance risk solutions within Asia-Pacific (APAC) and lead our regulatory and audit engagements in the region.

This role has the flexibility to be based anywhere in Australia or Singapore.

Key job responsibilities

  • Continuously evaluate the APAC regulatory landscape and look around corners to ensure AWS preparedness for emerging regulatory and compliance risks;
  • Translate emerging regulatory and compliance risks into actionable insights, and partner with business and service teams to create new, or enhance existing, mechanisms that proactively address requirements;
  • Invent and simplify approaches to the risk management capabilities that drive growth and performance while addressing the evolving needs of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Lead the coordination and execution of regulatory exams and audits in APAC on behalf of ARM program; and
  • Integrate APAC regulatory requirements and lessons learned into the ARM program.
  • Direct engagement with regulators across industries (e.g. Monetary Authority of Singapore, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) and/or government agencies within APAC
  • Experience developing and implementing risk frameworks within a regulated industry and/or at a technology service provider
  • Ability to manage conflict with diplomacy and backbone, escalate and deescalate effectively, and remove obstacles in difficult situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex regulatory and compliance challenges into clear solutions for different audiences
  • Proven ability to manage competing goals and priorities, balance workload, make highjudgment decisions independently, and deliver results on time despite ambiguity or incomplete information
  • Highly organized and ability to earn trust with stakeholders at various levels of an organization and with external bodies
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and coach others to solve problems and negotiate alternatives to get to the right outcomes
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
