Based in Melbourne, MedHealth are currently seeking someone with a high level of initiative, an outgoing personality, and a professional can-do attitude to join our team.


The purpose of the Data Management Practices Analyst is to implement a series of security recommendations to mitigate risks associated with data across the broader MHG Business Divisions.

This role will deliver key initiatives to uplift the security of MHG data controls, policies, and standards.

Job Description:

  • Review and refine, as needed, existing data classification policy and approach
  • Update existing data flow maps to incorporate a full data inventory in accordance with data classification policies outlining all business technology systems and processes, the data they transmit / store / process, and relevant security controls and requirements
  • Develop and implement plans to institute new requirements or deploy additional security controls (e.g., accessibility, ability to copy, encryption, etc.) for identified systems and processes that handle different data types as needed
  • Incorporate any new data handling requirements or security controls across all asset / system / process deployment efforts moving forward
  • Define and document data retention policies based on business need and data compliance requirements and regulations
  • Develop an exception process, including an approval process, for any data that is determined to be retained beyond the defined retention policy period
  • Develop a plan to purge data that does not comply with the new data retention policies
  • Purge data, in electronic and paper form, that is beyond data retention requirements
  • Establish an ongoing process for purging data beyond the defined retention requirements

Qualifications:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previously implemented a data classification enforcement tool
  • Experience with data warehousing and data modelling.
  • Experience with data security techniques.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in relevant field or extensive experience.

Specific Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience working within a similar role
  • Experience within Health, government and Employment services highly regarded
