The Challenge


As the Scheduler for Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance (EMM) you will be responsible for the work schedule for EMM internal resources and contractors.

You will have a primary focus on short term outcomes while also developing future schedules including coordination of internal and external resources.


What you'll do:

  • Work closely with Planners, Field Supervisors and centralised dispatch teams to understand priorities and balance resource constraints.
  • Be able to commit to a start time of 6am daily in order to meet operational requirements for this position including reviewing overnight reactive work and upcoming schedules and communicating changes to field teams
  • Work to help embed and improve planning and scheduling capability at Hunter Water including supporting the implementation of a new work management system (IFS)

What you'll need to be successful:

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven positive work ethic and a desire to proactively improve workforce management through the implementation of digital solutions
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in scheduling and/or work planning, preferably in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Experience working with computerised maintenance management systems, preferably for 4 plus years in prior roles (i.e. Ellipse, IFS)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team
  • Class C drivers licence

Desirable Criteria:

  • Relevant trade qualifications (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Working knowledge of IFS, FSM and PSO
  • Working knowledge of Ellipse or a similar ERP/Asset management system
