What makes us special?

At Jahjumbeen, our difference is our connection with our local community and the wider world. We care for our environment and look for ways to support others.

We visit places in our neighbourhood like the local library and cafe and regularly welcome special guests to visit with us and share about what they do.

We have learned how to look after our teeth from the dentist, fire safety when the fire truck visited and enjoy story time with Claire, our chaplain.

We explore our creativity with art and practise mindfulness.

The Uniting Church in Queensland has been serving families through childcare services, run by congregations and other church organisations such as Wesley Mission Queensland and UnitingCare since 1964.

Now under Uniting Early Learning, our objectives are mission based rather than profit based. We prioritise the delivery of quality learning outcomes for our children and a values-based philosophy.

More broadly, the Uniting Church in Australia is a large uniquely Australian Christian denomination in Australia. In Queensland, we have around 250 congregations and has schools, colleges and large community services. The depth and diversity of our ecosystem reminds us that we're part of something bigger.

We believe:

  • In cooperating to make the world a better place
  • In the inherent value of all people
  • In the human need for connection, accep
