Senior Education Officer

Your Role
As a Senior Education Officer specialising in Home Education, you'll be at the forefront of assisting families in understanding their statutory obligations and navigating the home education process. Reporting to the Manager of the Home Education Unit, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that families receive the support they need to embark on their home education journey. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert advice on home education legislation, policies, and procedures to parents considering or currently engaged in home education.
  • Assessing and processing home education registration applications in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Conducting internal reviews as necessary, exercising delegated decision-making powers.
  • Building and sustaining supportive relationships with home educating families and other stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the ongoing improvement of services and information available to home educating families.
  • Assisting in the development and management of systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.

Your Qualifications
A mandatory requirement for this role is possession of a relevant degree from a recognised tertiary institution or agreed equivalent, demonstrating your suitability and relevance to the responsibilities of the position.
