Epworth Rehabilitation is seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Grade 2 Social Worker to provide comprehensive social work services in the area of Multi-Trauma Orthopaedic Rehabilitation.

This is a full time, fixed term parental position of 38 hours per week, until April 2025.


The successful applicant will provide excellence in patient care to patients and their families, as well as involvement in staff and student supervision.

You will work in an energetic and cohesive clinical team that strives for excellence in patient care.

The Social Work Department offers a high level of clinical support and supervision, as well as a strong commitment to professional development activities and quality projects.


You will make an impact by:

  • Undertaking comprehensive psychosocial assessments and complex discharge planning
  • Striving for patient and family inclusive practice in all stages of care
  • Engaging positively with all other colleagues to achieve best clinical outcomes
  • Supervising students
  • Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A minimum of three years relevant social work experience in a hospital, rehabilitation or other healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of trauma rehabilitation and funding bodies would be highly regarded
  • Ability to manage a large and complex caseload of inpatients on a multitrauma ward
  • Extensive skills, enthusiasm and commitment to your work and embrace the opportunity to contribute to the positive culture at Epworth HealthCare
  • Welldeveloped expertise in assessment, intervention and discharge planning

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Masters of Social Work
  • Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
