Your new role:
By joining us for 65 hours per fortnight as a Permanent Part-Time Support Worker to deliver NDIS services in Bendigo, you will help participants to gain independence and confidence in all aspects of their life by sharing common passions and interests – particularly woodwork The role has a strong focus (but is not limited to) supporting individuals with a disability to learn, maintain and increase their skills in woodwork. You will be expected to work for 6.5hrs per day, for 5 days per week.

This role will also focus on engaging participants in the community. Support Workers will engage with participants and support them with their individualised plans and goals. This may include building connections within the community and assisting the person to attend a community event.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience with woodwork skills & knowledge of tools of the trade. Please outline these skills in your cover letter.
  • Demonstrated experience working with people with a disability either in a professional environment or may be demonstrated through non-professional means or life experience;
  • A sound understanding of disability and the effect on social relationships, independent living, daily needs and physical health
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal, as well as negotiation and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to identify, organise and utilise relevant resources effectively;
  • Ability to function as a constructive and collaborative member of a small cohesive team;
  • Demonstrates qualities of empathy, compassion and integrity;
  • Possess a current driver's license

The successful candidate will have the legal right to work in Australia and will be required to complete a National Police Clearance Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Screening clearance prior to being offered a role with WISE Employment.
