About the Role:


Our Queensland Government client is seeking an excellent Iteration Manager to join an IT Directorate that has commenced implementing Agile ways of working, with project and service delivery teams commencing their Agile journeys.

Working closely with the Agile Practices Lead, the Iteration Manager will assist and guide teams to embed agile ways of working and continuous improvement practices within their teams.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Agile team ceremonies, aligning to the client's Agile practices.
  • Facilitate and guide teams through embedding Agile values, principles, and practices introduced by the Agile Practices Lead.
  • Ensure that any follow up actions resulting from ceremonies are completed.
  • Provide Servant Leadership to the Agile teams in removing blockers and raising risks that the team are unable to resolve themselves.
  • Ensure that the teams are focussed on the highest priorities by working closely with the Project Manager and/or Project Owner.
  • Work with the team to identify internal and external dependencies, and guide the team on managing these in an Agile at scale environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring work walls and team boards are kept up to date, including Quarterly Plans, Release Plans, Sprint Plans, Metrics, Risks, etc.
  • Assist the Agile Practices Lead in preparing teams for Agile at scale ceremonies, such as Quarterly Planning, Directorate Sync, and Inspect and Adapt ceremonies

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous Queensland Government department experience is essential.
  • Hands on experience as an Iteration Manager / Scrum Master across multiple teams is absolutely essential.
  • Proficient in Agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Solid understanding of the full SDLC, including understanding of Project and Operational Support environments.
  • Good understanding of PRINCE2 Agile and/or ITILv4
