About the job- Coordinates rehabilitation planning within the long-term (5 to 10 years prior to mining), medium term (2-5 years) and short term (0-2 years) phases in collaboration with Alcoa staff and external consultants.

- Provides guidance and advice to long-, medium
- and short-term mine planners, closure practitioners, rehabilitation supervisors and rehabilitation contractors in relation to rehabilitation planning and execution projects.
  • Works in collaboration with internal stakeholders to develop adaptive management strategies and mine remediation plans
  • Prepares cost estimates for rehabilitation plans, where required to inform mine planning, closure planning and internal financial liability estimation processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Environmental Research Team in relation to key knowledge gaps in the rehabilitation space.
About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Degree in relevant earth science, environmental science, or engineering field
  • Experience in environmental &/or scientific roles within the mining industry
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Experience in environmental monitoring, mine closure & regulatory interface functions highly regarded
