Purpose of Role:

_ _We are looking for an Elastomer Operator who is effective and safe operating Elastomer press equipment in line with production requirements and Weir Minerals Australis's Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Focus Area:
Efficiently work allocated presses as per schedule.

Focus Area:
Communicate with Team Leader if there are any issues affecting product quality or press efficiency.

Focus Area:

Assist throughout Elastomer functions as and where required - this includes, but is not limited to, trimming products, painting reinforcement, mould preparation etc.


Focus Area:
Complete all start-up and end of shifts checks, press log sheets and other documentation as required.

Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.


Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Previous experience in a similar role with the usage of presses, guillotines, clicker pressers, extruders and overhead cranes.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Mathematical:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Physical Demands:
Standing and walking for up to 12 hours a day.

Repetitive upper and lower limb usage.

Wearing PPE for up to 12 hours per day.

Work Environment:
Loud environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts and exposure to airborne particles or chemicals. Appropriate PPE to be worn at all times.
