ABOUT THE ROLE:

With the recent local and world markets shift toward zero emission vehicles and benefitting from Volgren's strong focus on the design and development of innovative new bus solutions, we are looking to increase our workforce at this exciting time with talented individuals contributing to the overall success of our company.

We are looking to fill a General Maintenance/Continuous Improvement Tradesperson role within our Eagle Farm facility. You will assist with savings targets for continuous improvement efforts and support groups undertaking kaizen activities in the application of lean tools into the designated site. In this hands-on position, you will have a strong drive and motivation to succeed and be able to work in a safety conscious environment.

Positions enjoy working a 9-day fortnight. Pay rate is market competitive and depends on experience and qualifications. This will be a permanent full time opportunity and paid as per our Enterprise Agreement.

  • Work collaboratively with production, quality assurance, and other relevant departments to drive safety and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with savings targets for continuous improvement efforts
  • Assist and ensure teams with implementation of lean tools and techniques in post event activities
  • Have a positive can do attitude and willing to give anything a go
  • Work with the teams to assist in the setting up and controls of 5S principles
  • Develop a culture of Continuous improvement and teamwork. Help people believe that we can achieve the vision. Support all cross-functional teams as they are formed.
  • Achieve improvements in performance, safety, quality, efficiency, and cost. Eliminate waste

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experienced in the use of hand tools
  • Mig, stainless steel or aluminium welding
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • General tool maintenance preferred but not required
  • Follow all relevant safety guidelines and procedures

This position also requires the applicant to undertake a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol analysis, musculoskeletal evaluation and hearing test
