A supportive and prominent Federal Government Department is looking to engage an experienced Data Product Owner to contribute to the data strategy and product roadmap for key customer accounts. The successful Data Product Owner will secure a 12 month contract with the option to extend for a further 12 months aligned with a rewarding daily rate.

The successful Data Product Owner will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Contributing to the data strategy and product roadmap for key customer accounts. Respond and oversee customer needs, pain-points and opportunities, research and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintaining, assembling, and prioritising a squad backlog, reflecting product roadmap activities and accommodating important and urgent ad hoc requests.
  • Leading the squad in sprint planning, providing direction consistent with business requirements and priorities, ensuring all squad members are leveraged and contribute effectively to each sprint, and that continuous value is delivered by the squad to the customer, aligned to the strategy and roadmap.

The successful Data Product Owner will have experience in the following:

  • Hands on experience as a Data Product Owner in sprint and/or Kanban product development processes.
  • Hands on experience in understanding complex business problems and translating into data product solution concepts, roadmaps and release plans. Communicating a product solution / journey to a squad.
  • Hands on experience in developing, refining, and maintaining a product backlog prioritised on business value, and hands on experience in effectively planning and managing resources to balance ad hoc requests, BAU and product development work as required.
