The role


A user-friendly, fully cloud-based platform and efficient operational systems are our backbone, freeing up our outstanding team of disability professionals to focus on direct client support.

Our current processes and systems have served us well, but it is now the time to take a step back and figure out what's required to scale the business well into the future.


We have recently developed an exciting vision for this future state, that defines how a tech savvy disability agency can use the latest tools and innovations to create an outstanding experience for both clients and staff.


Key Accountabilities

Strategy

  • Support the development of the IT strategy and roadmap
  • Build and lead the cloud and engineering capabilities within the technology team
  • Design & develop IT delivery model suitable to support InLife's strategic direction
  • Participate in and drive solution architecture & security decisions

Delivery

  • Delivery highquality software on time and within budget using agile methodologies
  • Drive security by design software development, uplift and maintain Cyber Security best practices
  • Proactively implement and support necessary infrastructure for any software development initiatives
  • Develop and maintain schedules, budgets and resource plans
  • Promote and manage the development process, enable "testfirst" practices, quality and security early and often in the CI/CD flow (DevSecOps)
  • Collaborate with IT Operations Manager to manage IT Risk and Issue Management framework
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams
  • Contributes to planning events and continually support the team to connect the Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs through Pre
- and Post-PI Planning events

  • Plan and coordinate the delivery of software releases, including coordinating with other teams and departments
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos

Stakeholder Management

  • Continuously engage with the business to identify areas for improvement, assess solutions and recommend new approaches
  • Communicate project status, risk and issues to stakeholders and management

Leadership

  • Recruit, hire and manage the performance of team members
  • Engage and manage external vendors
  • Mentor and coach staff and ensure their professional development through continuing education and professional affiliations/associations

To be successful you'll have

  • 5+ years experience of leadership delivering technology projects
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or similar
Capability

  • Proven capacity to introduce and embed new ideas and approaches into existing working practices, together with a strong ability to adapt to change
  • High attention to detail with the ability to instil a culture committed to highest quality
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Strong customer service skills, personable, professional and approachable with a flexible approach
Business & Projects

  • Prior experience developing and delivering IT Strategy in partnership Executives
  • Experience developing and implementing best practice IT processes, policies and procedures
  • Strong project management experience and the ability to drive multiple projects to closure in a timely manner
Teams & Collaboration

  • Experience in developing agile operating models
  • Strong experience with agile portfolio delivery and planning
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification ( e.g. SAFe Agilist, SAFe Practitioner)
  • Desirable
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing small to medium size multidisciplined development teams and external vendors
Technical

  • Strong background in software development, with experience in:
  • Programming languages: JavaScript, Java, Ruby, Python, C++, C#, or PHP
  • Databases : Postgres, MySQL
  • Unix, Linux
  • Using and/or building APIs: REST, GraphQL
  • Source Control : Github
  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, platform as a service (PaaS), APIs, open da
