Now is your opportunity to be part of the Pillow Talk Fabric, by joining us in this highly exciting Buying role based at our enviable brand new Darra Head Office. As a Buyer at Pillow Talk, you'll be responsible for creating inspirational ranges that span core and seasonal lines, evoking continued excitement and loyalty from our customer demographic. You'll use your strong negotiation skills to access competitive product prices whilst staying true to our brand, and so your ranges will include only the highest quality textiles and home furnishings, that meet current market trends, and that are aspirational, inspirational, and affordable.

A bit about you...

• Maximising retail sales and net profitability through effective range planning and providing key insights and recommendations throughout the merchandise lifecycle to keep the products moving
• Develop trust-centric, sustainable relationships with our global supplier and vendor network, and gauge new supplier opportunities as and when our range(s) outgrow our supplier's capacity or product diversity, to ensure Pillow Talk remains at the forefront of the textiles and home decorating landscape
• Driving efficiencies in aspects of the buying process from gross profit, order quantities, delivery lead times, and testing of products
• Ensuring compliant manufacturing processes (fill weights, trimmings, stitching, finishes) are the best value and meet the high standards that our customers know and love us for
• Owning your inventory and stock levels, and the pace of product turnover
• Setting retail prices, meeting gross profit budgets and ensuring catalogue and store pricing is compliant with ACCC regulations

A bit about you...

• Experience in buying and product development (ideally furniture and lighting), including management of the merchandise lifecycle from selection, production, quality control, delivery and stock management
• Adept negotiator, with demonstrated experience in landing mutually beneficial contacts
• Strong commercial and retail acumen with experience in a promotionally driven environment
• Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills
• Adept with complex systems, Excel, and other Microsoft programs
• An influencer who is highly personable, confident, and with an outstanding ability to develop interpersonal relationships across the business
• A strong communicator with excellent attention to detail and superb written and oral communication skills
• The ability to build and nurture relationships internally and externally
• Highly developed organisational skills and time management
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to energise others
