The role
As a Optical Fibre Technician you will be involved in:

  • Preparation and splicing of optic fibre cables internal and external enclosures and frames.
  • Reading and understanding network plans and drawings.
  • Multi core count (Stranded and Ribbon) Cable preparation.
  • Testing and Commissioning of links as per customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of NBN DFN and LFN infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of Cable Hauling Practices and Procedures.
  • Knowledge of multiple Carrier Optical Fibre Networks.

Requirements / Skills

  • Experience in the telecommunications industry working in live carrier networks
  • Construction Industry Induction (White Card)
  • Current drivers license
  • First Aid (CPR)
  • Confined Space ticket
  • Single & Ribbon experience would be viewed favourably
  • NBN enabled
