About the Role:


We are looking for a Surveyor that will effectively determine property boundaries and precise property measurements on our work sites.

The measurements may be relevant to the shape, contour, gravitation, location, elevation and dimension of land, for purposes of engineering, mapmaking, construction, or other purposes.

This is a full-time role, and may be performed across various regional project sites.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct ground and aerial surveys to establish all relevant measurement, including heights, depths, property lines, relative positions, and other terrain characteristics.
  • Use geodetic and engineering instruments to calculate and interpret survey data, geomorphic and topographic features, and fixed points for use in map creation.
  • Survey bodies of water in order to collect data for construction of breakwaters, piers and other marine structures.
  • Prepare and maintain all surveying data, including charts, sketches, maps and reports of surveys for purposes of certifying and assuming liability for work performed.
  • Conduct surveys and verify accuracy of survey data in order to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds.

Required skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in surveying or spatial design.
  • Proven experience using GPS, Robotic Total Stations (Theodolites), aerial and terrestrial scanners, and associated computer software.
  • Experience with UAV work is required along with the applicable CASA licence.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing process improvements within the surveying function.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and specific experience in the survey and setout of Solar Farms to the requirements of the tracking system/mounting structure OEM requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and provide technical guidance in the field to junior staff.
  • Knowledge of the renewable generation industry, along with electricity transmission, distribution and infrastructure.
  • Travel to project sites across Australia and New Zealand for extended periods is required including in work camps in remote locations.
