One part of this global market leader has recently set up a new division and is now seeking to hire an IT and Network Security Consultant /Architect in Sydney to work as part of its global IT Security team, ensuring strict compliance with enhanced IT security standards, processes and controls.

Reporting directly to the Security Team Leader based in the USA, you will collaborate with Business and IT teams to understand business goals and develop strategies and solutions that mitigate the risk to data, systems and people while balancing the business's operational needs.

You will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of software and hardware solutions for existing and new cloud security needs for the data center, mobility, web, and ERP markets.

This role will contribute to system architectures and appropriate security posture through design and operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Recommend improvements to company's security posture through technological, administrative, or physical controls. Assist in creation of guidelines and standards for the secure use of cloud, mobility, and web technologies. Work with project teams regarding security architecture and technical implementation. Execute the organizational information security plan, performing tasks and activities prescribed by policy and process, allowing the organizations to take a proactive information security stance. This includes a variety of activities such as administering security awareness training and testing, performing telecommuter risk management assessments, ensuring acceptance to the acceptable use agreement, processing requests for security exceptions, and other similar tasks.
  • Participate in projects across crossfunctional teams that are vital to security posture. Research and test solutions to meet security capability gaps. Monitor threat intelligence feeds for information regarding potential threats against the organization, permitting a proactive stance. Escalate findings as required and make recommendations regarding actions to mitigate threats posed. Identify measures or metrics deviating from acceptable ranges, taking remedial action and engaging appropriate stakeholders

Qualifications/Certifications

  • Associate of (ISC)2 or CISSP certification required.
  • Once requisite experience for a CISSP is available, obtain and maintain a CISSP certification.
  • Cloud Computing Security Certifications (e.g., CCSP, CCSK, CompTIA Cloud+, CCA, CCP, AWS Certified Security
  • Specialty, etc.) highly desired
  • Minimum of 5+ year of experience in information technology, with at least one of those years dedicated to information security (e.g. enterprise security engineering, design, and implementation).

Ideally you possess:

  • Advanced understanding of services and architecture required to build secure cloud computing platforms; especially using encryption for data at rest and in transit
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills to be able to clearly articulate complex IaaS/PaaS/SaaS security concepts to people unfamiliar with cloud platform engineering
  • Excellent understanding of IaaS and virtualization serviceorientated architecture designed around the delivery and security of infrastructure components as a service
You must have working rights in Australia.
