Tennis has a rich history in Queensland, the sport is very much part of the Queensland DNA; and the State has produced many of the world's greatest players from Rod Laver and Roy Emerson to Pat Rafter and Ash Barty.
Tennis QLD has a vision to be the number 1 sport in Queensland for participation, inclusivity and accessibility.They aim to enable, develop and lead a thriving tennis delivery network throughout Queensland, and to have more people playing tennis across the State whether in schools or across communities.
Tennis QLD is focused on nurturing all of Queensland's tennis communities.It's focus is on the grassroots to strengthen the State's tennis facilities and tennis delivery network – back to courts, coaches, competitions in safe, welcoming and inclusive tennis communities, whether in Cape York or Coolangatta.
Tennis QLD recognises the regional diversity of Queensland while acknowledging the benefits of national alignment and partnership with Tennis Australia and the halo effect of Tennis Australia's Summer of Tennis and the Brisbane International at the very heart of the Tennis calendar.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO)of Tennis QLD is responsible for advancing the interests of tennis throughout Queensland.The CEO is responsible for driving the Advantage Queensland 2026 Strategyand all operational aspects of the business, and is accountable to the Board of Tennis QLD.
The CEO will also take responsibility for the culture, governance, administrative and managerial activities of Tennis QLD, including the effective leadership of a committed team.

Candidate Requirements
Essential Skills
An understanding of the workings and demands of a membership-based sporting organisation
An understanding or ability to work in a state body which fits under the banner of a national body
Demonstrated success in promoting research outcomes to industry, government and the community
An ability to create a cultural vision and role model values driven leadership to multiple stakeholders
Ability to become the media face of the sport
Well-developed strategic planning and implementation and financial management skills
Building, managing and leading a successful high performing remote team
Proven track record of building and developing successful businesses
Previous P&L management experience
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport and influence multiple and diverse stakeholders
Strong computer literacy
Previous experience in leading and enabling staff to work as an effective team and achieve desired goals
Previous experience in financial management principles, practices and cost control mechanisms
Tertiary qualifications at a post graduate level (preferred) in a related area of management
Significant relevant experience in the effective leadership of diverse teams and stakeholders within challenging and high-pressure environments
