Role:


Inclusion aides provide significant support to students with disabilities and special needs including safety, personal care needs, facilitating total inclusion in the daily curriculum, and execution of classroom activities.


The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Inclusion Co-ordinator, Principal and Business Manager and as such will need to work effectively in a team environment.


Responsibilities:

Risk and Occupational Health and Safety
- comply with legislated occupational health and safety practices and participate in consultative processes
- observe safe work practices in accordance with school policy, training and instructions
- identify, report and where appropriate, action risks/hazards in order to eliminate or mitigate against the risk recurring (Risks arising in the workplace may be financial, site, task or person specific or related to safety.)
- promote and implement occupational health and safety and risk mitigation processes within the College

Main Role

  • Provide direct support to students with a disability on an individual basis and/or in a group environment, under the direction of the teacher
  • Encourage the development of individual wellbeing and selfesteem, social relationships and community participation
  • Maintain communication and effective working relationships with the students, teachers, families,
  • Work within a team environment to promote teamwork and effective practices
  • Assist with the supervision of students in schoolyard, at camps, on excursions, in sporting activities, life skills, etc.
  • Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of programs and evaluation of individual student involvement and achievement
  • Attend professional development and training required by the school, and actively seek opportunities to increase knowledge, experience and skills.
  • Other duties as directed by the Principal or Business Manager
  • Other administrative support as required.
