The Reject Shop is an ASX listed Australian Discount Variety retailer currently operating more than 380 stores nationally. We pride ourselves on our supportive team culture and understanding our customers, delivering the best value and variety possible.
We have a great opportunity available within our Merchandise team for a Buyer with strong FMCG experience. This role is responsible for one of biggest categories in our consumables department.
The role is a hybrid role and we work in the office Monday to Wednesday
The role is accountable for delivering a profitable category, while driving and developing key supplier relationships and executing the customer centric category strategy.
A Day in the Role:
Build and develop a strategy to ensure great quality, value, and experience to our customers Drive simple, consistent, and efficient processes Achieve our Low-Cost model Growing profitable sales for the portfolio by winning customers with market leading proposition Develop a customer centric category vision through a strategic approach to deliver the Product and Price directive Lead category transformation Drive sales performance in line with budget forecasts and LY Remove all duplication and range fringe to deliver simplest customer proposition Delivery of KPI's of sales and profit to budget Bring innovative new concepts to the category Develop supplier negotiations and lead negotiations Ensure all products are purchased in line with Australian quality standards Achieve markdowns, stock turns and fast turning inventoryWhat you can bring to the role:
Proven experience in retail buying, preferably within FMCG Strong negotiation skills and ability to build effective relationships with suppliers. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Results-driven and proactive, with a passion for delivering value to customers. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.What we can offer you:
